What is exterior paint protection film?
Exterior paint protection film, commonly called PPF, is a transparent urethane film installed over painted vehicle panels. Its purpose is to place a replaceable protective layer between the factory finish and everyday hazards such as road debris, light abrasion, wash marks, insects, bird droppings and tree sap. A professional result depends on more than the film itself: surface preparation, pattern accuracy, edge finishing, installation environment and aftercare all affect appearance and service life.
PPF is not an invisible metal shield and it cannot prevent every dent, deep impact or accident. It is designed to reduce the damage caused by common, lower-energy wear while making routine cleaning easier. The most suitable ARI film and coverage should therefore be selected according to the vehicle, driving conditions, desired finish and warranty requirements rather than price alone.
Should you install PPF on your car?
PPF is most compelling for a new vehicle, a valuable original finish, dark paint that shows fine marks, a car used frequently on highways, or an owner who intends to keep the vehicle for several years. When full coverage is beyond the budget, high-contact zones such as the front bumper, bonnet, mirrors, door cups, door edges, rocker panels and luggage ledge can still provide practical value.
It may offer less value on paint that needs extensive correction, on panels with uncertain repaint quality, or when the budget only permits an unverified film and rushed installation. Repainted panels require inspection because paint preparation and curing affect adhesion and safe future removal. The decision should match the vehicle's value, exposure, ownership period and maintenance expectations—not a universal yes or no.

Why vehicle owners choose exterior PPF
The primary reason to install PPF is to preserve original paint on high-contact and high-impact areas. The film helps absorb minor surface abrasion before it reaches the clear coat, while selected ARI TPU constructions use a self-healing top coat that can reduce the appearance of fine swirl marks under appropriate warmth. Hydrophobic and stain-resistant surface properties also help dirt release during washing.
A quality installation can maintain a consistent gloss or satin appearance without permanently altering the paint underneath. This is particularly useful on new, premium, frequently driven or difficult-to-repaint vehicles. Results vary with film series, maintenance, exposure and installer technique, so the product specification and written warranty for the selected line should always be reviewed before installation.

How much does car PPF cost?
The official ARI full-vehicle price list supplied in September 2026 starts at VND 21.9 million for T65MT on a sedan or CUV and reaches VND 87 million for U100 on an MPV or luxury vehicle. The table below shows every film and vehicle group together with its electronic warranty period. Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW, Volvo, Lexus, Porsche and comparable luxury vehicles are charged in the MPV/luxury category.
The listed figures apply to full-vehicle PPF packages. Paint correction, removal of old film, unusual body modifications or work outside the standard scope should be confirmed during inspection. Compare quotations by exact ARI film, vehicle category, included panels and warranty—not by the generic PPF label alone.
| Film | Sedan / CUV | SUV / Pickup | MPV / Luxury | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ARI T65MT Standard · Value | 21.900.000 ₫ | 23.900.000 ₫ | 25.900.000 ₫ | 3 years |
| ARI T65 Standard · High efficiency | 27.000.000 ₫ | 29.000.000 ₫ | 31.000.000 ₫ | 5 years |
| ARI U65 AR-Pro · Exceptional value | 40.000.000 ₫ | 43.000.000 ₫ | 46.000.000 ₫ | 6 years |
| ARI U75 Premium · Optimal choice | 59.000.000 ₫ | 62.000.000 ₫ | 67.000.000 ₫ | 8 years |
| ARI U100 Super · Ultimate choice | 78.000.000 ₫ | 83.000.000 ₫ | 87.000.000 ₫ | 10 years |
Note: Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW, Volvo, Lexus, Porsche and comparable luxury vehicles use the MPV / Luxury column. Prices apply to full-vehicle packages; the dealer confirms vehicle category and condition before installation.

Is cheap car PPF a good deal?
A lower price can be reasonable when it comes from smaller coverage, a simpler vehicle or a clearly positioned product line. It becomes risky when the seller cannot identify the film construction, specification, batch or warranty provider. Initial gloss does not show how adhesive, optical clarity, stain resistance and edges will behave after prolonged heat and outdoor exposure.
Compare value rather than the cheapest total. Inspect recent work in daylight, ask how edges are finished and confirm who handles lifting, cracking or unusual discolouration. The invoice and warranty registration should identify the installed product. A verified targeted package can be a better purchase than an unidentified full-body package sold only under the generic PPF name.

Choose coverage for the way the vehicle is used
Full-body coverage protects the painted exterior as one system and provides the most consistent finish. A full-front package normally focuses on the bumper, bonnet, front fenders, mirrors and other forward-facing areas exposed to road debris. Targeted coverage may be appropriate for door cups, door edges, loading ledges, rocker panels, gloss-black trim, headlights or other surfaces that receive frequent contact.
There is no universal package for every vehicle. Panel shape, previous paintwork, sensors, badges and trim determine how the film can be patterned and finished. Before approving the work, the installer should identify the panels included, the ARI film series, visible seams if any, edge treatment, estimated installation time and warranty registration process.

A professional exterior PPF installation process
The vehicle is first inspected under suitable lighting so existing chips, scratches, repainting and paint defects can be recorded. The exterior is then washed and decontaminated; corrective polishing may be recommended when defects would remain visible beneath the film. Patterns are prepared for the exact vehicle and cut with controlled equipment to reduce unnecessary blade contact with the paint.
During application, the installer manages alignment, solution, stretch and edge tension panel by panel. Complex curves require controlled technique: excessive stretch can affect optical clarity or long-term edge stability. The completed vehicle is inspected for alignment, trapped contamination, edges and finish. Some moisture or small installation marks can require a settling period, so the owner should receive clear collection and follow-up instructions rather than judge the film immediately after application.

Where to install car PPF in Ho Chi Minh City
When choosing a car PPF installer in Ho Chi Minh City, inspect the workshop before comparing promotions. Look for a clean, well-lit installation area; documented paint inspection; computer-cut patterns; a written panel list; identified film and warranty; and a clear post-installation inspection process. Ask to see recent work on a vehicle with similarly complex panels.
To find an authorized ARI installer in Ho Chi Minh City, Thu Duc or any other province, open the ARI dealer map and filter by location. Before visiting, confirm availability, film stock, coverage and the quotation directly with the workshop. A nearby address alone does not guarantee workmanship, so apply the same checklist to every installer.

Aftercare and warranty records
Follow the installer’s curing instructions before washing the vehicle or directing high-pressure water at film edges. Use pH-appropriate automotive products, clean towels and safe washing methods; aggressive solvents, abrasive compounds and automatic brushes can shorten the life of both film and paint. Contaminants such as insects, bird droppings and tree sap should be removed promptly using an approved method.
Inspect edges periodically and contact the installer if lifting, contamination or unusual discoloration appears. Do not trim or pull the film yourself. Keep the invoice, product series, installation date, installer details and warranty registration together. These records make future inspection and legitimate warranty support considerably easier.
